Yet it is something that is taught so infrequently because it’s a difficult subject to teach and has to be learnt from an experienced teacher. It is often seen that even elaborate 200 hours courses do not cover these cleansing practices

Module 2: Body – Ayurveda

The subject of Ayurveda is vast and will require detailed in-depth learning. In this Beyond Asana – Ayurveda module, we will be covering the basic concepts. We will provide you with information enough to pique your interest and for you to go on the exploratory path of self-learning. We will also explain Ayurveda’s role in Yoga and how it is intrinsically connected to living the yogi life. This module will cover:

  • History of Ayurveda
  • Panchamahabhuta
  • Doshas
  • Prakriti
  • Gunas

Module 3: Body – Hatha Yoga Abhyasa

Hatha came from the fusion of ‘Ha’ Hakaram representing the Surya or Sun element and ‘Tha’ Thakaram representing the Moon element. The practice of Hatha yoga then is to balance out both the active and receptive elements in our body and to bring our body in a state of equilibrium.

This course takes you through three Hatha Yoga sessions which you will follow along with and dive deeper into your own practice.

Module 4: Body: Vinyasa Krama

How movement has become such as important and integral part of yoga practice? When we think of yoga, thinking of those people sitting still for long time yet about 80% of modern yoga classes are vinyasa, they are fluid.

Vinyasa Krama means a step by step progression into something, or to a certain goal. Vinyasa is a great exploration of meditation in movement, eventually coming to stillness which is the goal.

Module 5: Body – Surya Namaskar

Surya literally means “giver of energy” or “SUN” and Namaskar means “Salutation”.

Surya namaskar or Sun salutation is one of the most common yoga practices globally. While we don’t know when exactly in history Surya Namaskar began as a practice, in its modern format there are different opinions that when Surya Namaskar tradition started to get formulated.

We believe the ancient yogis woke up to rising sun and tone their body, breath and mind with that.
